Valery I. Tiupa

Candidate of Philological Sciences (Moscow State University, 1974) and Doctor of Philology (Moscow State University, 1992). He has taught at universities in Samara, Lvov, Kemerovo (where he opened the Department of Literary Theory in 1980) and Novosibirsk. He trained at the Sorbonne and has taught in Poland and Germany. Since 1998, he has been a professor at the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow, where he is Head of the Department of Theoretical and Historical Poetics. Besides narratology, his ​​scientific interests include the general theory of literature, analysis of the literary text, comparative studies, Pushkin and Chekhov. He is also editor-in-chief of the review Novyj filologicheskij vestnik and co-editor of the online international journal Narratorium. Author of numerous articles and of several books, including Introduction to Comparative Narratology (in Russian, 2016) and Readings in Non-classical Narratology (in Russian, 2018), as well as editor of more than fifteen collective works, among them Narratology and Comparative Studies (in Russian, 2015). 

Veronika Zousseva-Özkan 

Doctor of Philology (Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow, 2013) and senior fellow with the Department of Modern European and American Literatures at the Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. Member of the European Narratology Network (ENN). Research interests: theory of literature, historical poetics, narratology, comparative studies, self-reflexive literature, metanarration and metafiction, genre theory and the meta-novel. Author of two monographs – Poetics of the Meta-novel (“The Gift” by V. Nabokov and “The Counterfeiters” by A. Gide in the Context of Literary Tradition) (2012, in Russian) and Historical Poetics of the Meta-novel (2014, in Russian) – as well as of seventy scientific and critical publications.

John Pier

Ph.D. (New York University, 1983) and Habilitation à diriger des recherches (Besançon, 1987), is an emeritus professor at the University of Tours, where he taught 19th- and 20th-century anglophone literatures. A statutory member of the Centre de recherche sur les arts et le langage (CNRS) in Paris, he has co-directed at this center the seminar “Contemporary Research in Narratology” since 2003. His work bears on transdisciplinary approaches to narrative theory based on semiotics, complexity theory, intertextuality, intermediality and discourse analysis. Co-editor of the collection Narratologia at De Gruyter, he is also the co-founder (in 2009) of the European Narratology Network (ENN), of which he was president from 2013 to 2015. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles and book chapters and has edited or co-edited more than fifteen anthologies, including Théorie du récit. L’apport de la recherche allemande (2007), Handbook of Narratology (2nd ed. 2014), Emerging Vectors of Narratology (2017), Le formalisme russe cent ans après (2018), Jan Mukařovský. Écrits 1928-1946 (2018) and Contemporary French and Francophone Narratology (forthcoming).

Liudmila V. Comuzzi

 Candidate of Philological Sciences in Germanic Languages (Moscow Lenin Pedagogical University, 1993), Doctor of Philology in the theory of language (Saratov University, 2009). Acted as Head of the Department of English at the Balashov Pedagogical Institute until September 2018, where she taught stylistics, the language of anglophone mass media and other subjects. Presently works at Sevastopol University as a professor in the Department of Foreign Languages. Her research area covers multidisciplinary approaches to narrative theory based on literary theory, linguistics and journalism. She has hosted two international conferences: The Russian Trace within Narratology (Balashov, 2012) and Speech Melody (Balashov, 2015). Editor of several anthologies including Semiosphere of Narratology (with J.-Á. García Landa, 2013). She is the author of more than a hundred scholarly articles and of three books as well as of a chapter entitled “Aesthetics of Publicist Narrative” in Aesthetics of Journalism (in Russian, 2018).

Larissa E. Mouravieva

Candidate of Philological Sciences (Moscow City University, 2017). Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the State University of Saint Petersburg since September 2018. Previously Lecturer at the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Nijni Novgorod, where she taught French literature, semiotics of cinema, semiotics of culture and other subjects. Fellow at the Moscow Center for French and Russian Studies (2016). Laureate of the program for postdoctoral mobility (FMSH, Paris) in 2017 and 2018. Her research bears on literary and narrative theory and on theoretical approaches to film.

Ekaterina Sokrouta

Candidate of Philological Sciences (2012) and doctoral candidate at the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. She is a research assistant at the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow, editor-translator of the review Novyj filologicheskij vestnik and executive secretary of the online international journal Narratorium. Her published research is in the areas of literary theory and narratology with a particular interest in metanarrative models of the Russian and European novel.
